St. Brelade's Bay

St. Brelade's Bay, facing south, with soft golden sand, is a favourite spot for visitors. The historic church was built in Norman times. Alongside the church lies the Fisherman's Chapel which was erected on the site of an earlier chapel built by a celtic community founded by St.Brelade. In the 11th century when Jersey was still part of France the Bishop of Coutances in Normandy built the new church to replace the celtic chapel.
